GLENDALE, Colo. -- The tiny city of Glendale, Colo. -a municipal island in the middle of Denver- is hoping to change its image from one of big box stores, hotels and strip clubs to high-end shopping, entertainment, recreation...and rugby.

Glendale is entertaining the idea of constructing an artificial channel to float boats which would be the center piece of a sprawling River Walk project, not unlike the famous River Walk in San Antonio, Texas.

The multi-use river corridor would create a regional gateway to a unique retail, specialty and commercial entertainment that would go a long way toward making Glendale a cultural hub.
